The Berkshire Scouts IT Team are in need of competent developers (specifically web developers) to help maintain their infrastructure and add new features to the services we offer. These services include the Berkshire Scouts website, Berkshire Scouts email, the hosting and help with many District’s and Group’s websites (along with services such as email), the soon to be announced county helpdesk system, and a range of other things such as the Nights Away Notifications System, the Boat Registration Scheme, the Activity Notification System and various Adult Training systems.

The majority of time spent will be flexible around applicants, but working to a specific deadline. There will be a few face-to-face meetings over the course of the year, but these are not frequent and the majority of contact will be with other members of the IT team and the Manager of the IT team by either email or phone. There will also be some contact with adult members in Berkshire, including members of county teams, members of districts and members of groups – this will obviously vary depending on which element or system you are working on at that time.

The role description is available here.

Applicants should send a brief cover letter/email to [email protected].
